You may feel like there isn't anything you can personally do about war. It seems like from the beginning of time there has been a war of some sort going on. Whether you agree or disagree with any particular war one thing remains constant. Soldiers come home severely wounded, if not physically then mentally with things like post-traumatic stress disorder. They will never go back to life the same way they did before. They will never truly know if what they did mattered or if it was appreciated. No matter if the war is considered good or bad the soldier went out and did the best job possible putting their life at risk for what they hoped would be a better life ahead. Many soldiers are forgotten when they get home. What's horrible is the way we treat them when they come home. We put American Soldiers in decrepit VA hospitals and sometimes use experimental drugs on them because they are the property of the US Government.
These veterans fought for many things, fueled by their love of freedom and their passion for their country. Many of them sacrificed their lives to buy freedom and civil rights for future generations. It is important that their work is never forgotten.
